A quick check on busters and m&p both list a 12v12ah battery for my tigger-an 04 wire wheel model, the Haynes manual says the same.
The battery I'm taking out is a 14ah and several other suppliers list a 14ah as correct..I'm assuming if I stick to a 14ah I'm getting better cranking power, any other benefits or disadvantages?

You may be getting confused with battery type markings. The battery type is a YTX14-BS, but its a 12.6Ah. But you can get a YTX14H-BS which is a higher output one 240amps Vs 200amps CCA, (Cold Cranking Amps).
