Swingarm interchangability?

One of the guys on the "other" forum was inquiring about swapping spoked to cast wheels and it got me to wondering if the early swingarms could be swapped onto the cast wheel bikes so it is lowerable like the spoke wheel models.
Any of you experts have real info on that?
The ride might be fun, but in the great scheme of things, it's the destination that counts.

It can be done either way but you'll need the shock and wheels to go with it not just a swing arm.

How's the lowering project coming along?

The Girly Gurus were correct. In my exuberance, I failed to consider that lowering the bike 1" at the shock would lower it 3" at the wheel. (The shock mount is 7" behind the swingarm pivot, the wheel contacts the ground 21" behind the pivot!)

So... while it may still be possible, it's likely a $700 shock might be cheaper.
