Charging system all over again!

Hello!

I know that this topic has been covered many times, but I have some narrowed questions.
What cause stator coil burn?
Can I install some other brand RR if there are same connections?

I live in country where Amazon and some other "good" sites do not deliver so I would like to get some other brand RR and install it but first I need to understand what causes stator coil burn.

Also I have found some DIY RR that is possible for me to manufacture. Here is the link:

I believe that stator failure is usually caused by failing connections in the charging circuit, probably initiated by corrosion.
I use a Shindengen R/R sourced from a Polaris vehicle. See here
