Thought I'd get a provisional route out into the open so that the RCC

vultures can descend nice and early..

Some ideas for the Pembs route next sunday:

Chepstow - Usk (on B4235) - Brecon (on A40) - Llandovery - Llandeilo -

Carmarthen - Tenby - Stackpole Quay for coffee - Haverfordwest - St

Davids - Fishguard - Newcastle Emlyn - Lampeter - Llanwrda -

Brynamman (over the top) - Ystradgynlais - Glynneath, then over the

one track road to Heol Senni via Ystradfellte, then to Libanus and to

Cardiff on the A470 and home.

Gives us lots of fast As, twisty river valley roads, some nice

coastal stuff in Pembs, then some 1 track roads over mountains etc.

As usual this will be eaten into and faster routes home taken by the

lily-livered, but the gist is there i.e. start at Chepstow, hammer

down to Pembrokeshire, have lunch, ride some crackingly good roads at

an appropriate pace and hammer back, with the odd hot chocolate and

fag break as we go along. (Alan, bring your thermals, I can't stand

to see someone shiver so much)

If my memory serves me, we have commitment from the following already:

Andy Collis

Paul Chaffey

Dave Williams

Preston 'golden wheels' Kemp

Simon Musgrove (local Pembs lad, guide in chief)

Lindsay Heyes

Hope also to get fellow Welsh riders Neal and Andy Mathias along as

well as a good number from over the border - Steve Ryland, Alan

Barnstaple, Simon RF, Andy Reynolds, Simon Green and even some of the

south easterners - Mark Winks? Jim? Norm & Cathy, Peed? Stephen

Archer? (no more fury bumble bee jokes please)

I'm arranging the weather, trust me, it should be a rip snorter.

Cheers, Rich

Good to hear you'll make it.  I've tried to take account of your feedback from the last one and have chosen some of the warmer routes in south Wales.

Looks like we'll have a sizeable bunch this time too.

See you at Chepstow.
