Woot!

My bank made a change in the way funds get transferred. I used to have to wait a few days for account transfers. Now they are immediate. I get to bring her home Friday! I don't have to wait another week!

I'm doing a Pacific Northwest Tech day in my garage on the 22nd. I'm a career changed professional motorcycle tech. So the ADV rider folks are invading. If anyone here wants to come and swap lies and get anything fixed. Come on down.

PM me if you want directions.

I have professional experience on the following:
Honda
Kawasaki
Yamaha
BMW
Aprillia
BMW Cages

I have the following equipment:
Milling machine
Complete valve train tools for doing valves, seats, guides...
Tire machine
Balancer stand
Bike lift
at least 4 floor jacks
any hand or air tool you can imagine
sanders paint airbrush
sandblasting cabinet
Mig, tig, arc and oxy acetelene welders

If you want to come, we have acreage and live in a farm setting on some land almost 3/4 mile off any paved road. We have ample camping space and will put the garage and our big room for people to crash if the weather is crap.

I already bought a brisket that will be slow smoked on Friday and be ready for Saturday. Bring your beverage of choice and make sure to order parts soon if you need them.

The only big rules are you need to haul your own junk tires away. You need to bring your own adult beverage of choice. And we are cigar lovers so smoke em' if you've got em'.

Umm no.

I'm just a lucky bastard who is a complete tool whore who can now afford the habit.

I haven't ever paid a Stealer a dime for service. I did rape the BMW warranty system with a lot of K1200RS breaks.

Wow..nice set up and the beautiful BLUE Steamer is remarkable to say the least.

Even the rear brake master cover is without a scuff!!!!

BwaaaHaaahaaa....

I have brought her home, but I've got some work to do. It wiggles like a pig, (old gold wing) at low speeds. I suspect the bar risers. (And quite possibly some inadequate tire pressure and a flattened out rear tire. )

I'll know tomorrow and fix most of this! I've been hunting for a local rear tire already. :-)

Scared the piss out of myself in a first gear hard grab on the way home. I wasn't expecting it to send the front wheel higher than I wanted it to be.   How cool is that?  :D

hahahahah! nice!

I think it was a Cycle World review of the Tiger in '98 that remarked, " This bike is capable of pulling Galaxy Class wheelies.."

I've put about 300 miles on the rig since Friday. I also had to do some maintenance.

Adjusted steering bearings
lowered tire pressures
set Penske shock for my weight and riding style
Adjust and lube chain
test the Corbin and decided it sucks ass
upgraded to Pro-Taper bars, originals were bent
remove bar risers
Start working on a belcrank system to fix the shift pattern.
replaced front brakes after completely cleaning and flushing the system
Order new rear tire to match the new front (d607)
Started search for spare wheels, want a set with TKC80's ready to bolt up

I idd about 40 miles in the dirt, not bad! This thing feels like a mosquito compared to the Beemer sled.

So begins the quest for a trip to the great white north.
