the Easter Bunny BBQ is Saturday, April 10th,2004. Potluck BBQ, starting

around 2pm, egg hunt and pi"atas for the urchins, followed by food a little

later. You are invited.

Be there or be square! Got a freezer full of rabbit and I am collecting wood

for the bonfire. Gonna be stuffing candy up the pi"atas ass and dying eggs

to keep the munchkins amused. Robert is bringing some homebrew with

him(competition from other brewmiesters is encouraged). He is also bringing

his accordion, so, PUHLEEZE, if you play an instrument, bring it so we can

have some variation in the background noise!

Hope y'all can come.

DIRECTIONS BY GPS

I-84 to Hood River, take the third(East) Hood River Exit and head South up

Hwy 35 towards Mt.Hood.

...by GPS(new toy,the numbers look right to me;-)

Hwy 35 south from the Panda Bear in front of the Chinese Restaurant

at the

Turn left onto Neal Creek Road, be careful, this corner is tighter

than it

looks and there is always a skiff of gravel here 45o 37.78N 121o

There is room in the yard for tents, or you can camp in the woods near by.

Following are some links to Gorge Net,

with info about area lodging, weather etc:

Hood River abounds with hotels and B & B.

Other than the B&Bs, some of which are out in the country on less traveled

roads and a little closer to me, getting a room means going into Hood River.

About a 7 mile trip. No big deal, but be sober if you are driving.

the closest

Praters (541)386- 3566 -never been there, but there are often bikes parked

out front. May have construction going on in the street out front

Lone Pine (541) 3867-8882 -I haven't been there in years ;-) used to be the

worst dive in town; somewhat improved since half of it burned down. Crawling

distance from Safeway.

B&B

-this one belongs to some good friends of mine. It is about a ten minute

ride from my place. Great view, great accommodations, great people. I

recommend it, if you can get reservations.

http://www.pheasantvalleyorchards.com/ -'bout halfway from town to my house,

if you book a room here ping me for directions

http://www.berylhouse.com/ on the same route as above, closer to town

http://www.lakecliffbnb.com/ -Uncle Blasto grew up in this house. We had

some wild times there. Ask him about it. In someways nicer now with the new

owners, but nowhere near as interesting(think Adams Family without so much

Goth)

The best bet is still. The Vagabond Motel. They have always treated my

friends well, the rooms are nice, with reasonable rates.  (541)386-2992

Regretfully, I will not be able to attend your shindig.  You are a little ways out of my neighborhood.  In fact I have NEVER seen a pair of easter bunnies like them around these parts........

Have fun,

Jace

PS.  What kind of knobbies are you running????

Jace

Redmenace,

Your bunnies just disappeared.   They must be shy.

Pity. I think Jay Giese is bringing his 95 Tiger down from Seattle if he gets it together in time. He is in the process of putting a dualsport sidecar on it, but it is a little more involved then the one we did on mine. Among other things, he is building monoshock leading link forks for it. I am looking forward to seein what he comes up with.

I am running Kenda knobs on my rig.

You are twisted...... How do those Kenda's perform?

they work really well for my sidecar rig. They might be a little much for a solo that sees street use. I have a Kenda Trackmaster rear mounted on the front wheel.

I think the Conti dualsport knobs are a pretty good choice for solo use; I wear out 3-4 sets of tires a year witht he sidecar so I prefer a cheaper option. Had to raise the front fender and reroute the brake lines to fit the big knobs on the front.

Thanks for the tire info.....I will stay with Metzler Karoos....Howl on the hwy but I like the way they work on gravel/mud/snow/offroad.  Been using Dunlop 604s for my long road trips.
