I am new to Triumph Tigers so this may be a daft question. But why do some owners call their bikes steamers?

Hi Frank,
It started a few years ago, as I understand it, on the Yahoo Tiger List. When the new EFI Tigers came out, the owners of older Tigers began calling them "Girly" Tigers, saying they didn't look as "tough" - or at least not as agricultural. In response, the riders of the new Tigers called the old ones "steam-driven" or steamers.....
