Title: '93 Caspian Blue
Post by: 93TigerBill-2016 on May 09, 2017, 08:56:46 AM
Hi,
Back on board (see New Member intros).
A few pics - and note the (original) painted engine cases - I've only seen one other, on a '93 Red one (Gold Coast, Qld).

Thx.
The Tiger was heavily 'farkled' before I had the Versys, now most have been removed, except the "Mustang" lowered footpegs, rear wheel hugger, and the H&B bars.
The eagle-eyed amongst the group will have seen the original stickers on the tank - indeed all original stickers in place, as well as the extended rear mudguard.
I'm careful that any mods are easily reversible.
The sprague clutch recalls (2 of) were done by the PO, easier with the top access plate on the engine.
Regards, Bill

Just noticed 132,000 Km, so not a low mileage bike either, but I suppose thats the Aussie climate for ya. According to the Testogen site (http://www.witi.org/) my Hinkley Bible.

Awesome looking bike, simple as that. I love that blue color. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Thx TomBox2, my 'research' showed the same, colour only on the '93's. I've only seen one other in Oz, a Red one, and in both instances, the paint adhesion is fine, although I'm careful not to be too aggressive on cleaning.
There's a fair few of the '93 Tigers in Germany apparently, a mate travels back there every two years, and notices them. Seems they sold in Germany before the UK, regs on plastic tanks it seems.

I think the 'peeling' paint issue is due to salt, and wet/damp conditions? All my bikes have been effected. Not so bad on my Daytona due to the fairing. Some BMW's suffer same?

The coloured casing covers on my hack are holding on better than a few black ones a lot younger.

I heard a story that it was the German importer who conviced Triumph that local owners wanted them, not for long it would seem.

Very tidy.
Mine has half the klms but being the 5th owner, I can understand why it has so many "battlescars"
Hopefully see you on the road somewhere  :thumbsup

Hi Russ,
Love the Blue Tig, but am giving up riding (health problems, sold my T800XC recently), so deciding whether to just keep it for Triumph Rallies, or move it on. Lives in the garage, my ute outside.
Regards,
Bill
