Title: external alternator cable and starter cable upgrades
Post by: fattyjr on December 26, 2015, 01:13:06 AM
How come motorcycles have to be difficult when i comes to wiring and charging ???

Anyways, I am thinking of putting new and bigger power cables onto my tiger as I have noticed a little corrosion (green stain) on the ring terminals of the cables.

i have some high spec hex wound battery power cable i purchased some time ago and use it to change my bike cables when the time comes to do it.  The starter motor cables are easy as they are easy to follow.  The main alternator cable seems to dissappear into the harness.

Have read plenty of write ups for the later stator style charging circuit, but nothing on the alternator style charging

885 ?   you won't either , because the alternators were fairly bulletproof

so naturally Triumph replaced them with something that sucked to save a $$$

just wanting to replace the or add an additional cable from alternator direct to battery with a heavier cable.
