Title: Picking Up a Heavy /Awkward Bike
Post by: TigerTrax on November 17, 2003, 12:36:13 AM
Hey Dave ...

Stash a long tie-down strap in your 'possibles bag'.  If you need to pick your bike up ... without strining your oysters .... cinch the strap low on a frame or crash bar ( on the down side ); put your back to the bike; Squat down; Run the strap along your back and over your right shoulder; Tighten the slack; Stand up and take small steps back. Your bike will simply work its way up as you continue to stand up and step back.

( You can pick a Gold Wing doing this )

PS.. Once it's like 90% up.... stop lifting ... you'll pop it over on the other side!!!

Tenpaq...

in the mid-late 60's I was stationed at Sanford Naval Air Station...

Spent many nights in late fall fishing South of Daytona ... standing in water up to my shoulders to stay warm ...

Until one night when some guys came by and chummed for sharks! By the time I figured out what was going on ... they had 3 laying on the beach!

cool, they were probably Nurse, Lemon,Sand,Blacktip or Bonnet head sharks. the biggest sharks rite off the beach averages 3to4 ft. So don`t worry any longer as you were safe. don`t do that stuff in costa or aus. you`d be better off X-treem FreeStyling your tiger off jumps!! thats cool you were in The Service , just goes to show real men ride Tigers!!
