what exactly does the fuel pressure regulator do on a 885i please
because there is conflicting info on the net

I`m at a loss to how it all works...thought mine was fooked so bought a new one and the problem persisted, it was nowt to do with the regulator, but if you need one to try out my old ones sitting in the kitchen...

It controls the pressure of fuel in the injector rail.  The injectors are calibrated to deliver a measured amount of fuel based on a specific pressure.  Too high pressure and it will be rich, too low, weak or not run, but see my post on your other thread.
