Post by: Timbox2 on February 01, 2017, 07:42:46 PM
Decided to forget Aberystwyth and just go for a ramble round the Elan Valley, been a few times but not for a while and never really took much in.

Grrrr, let me out!

First stop for a low fat veggie breakfast, they didnt do either,  so had to have full fat meat.

( If God wanted us to be Veggie he'd have made Pigs out of Soya)

Sure many will recognise Builth Wells, my parents final resting place, well, 2 of them. ( I had 2 mums)

The first and lowest of the Dams, "Caban Coch".  35,530 Megalitres, thats 35 Billion Litres. Always new them Brummies were a thirsty lot, eh Chris :icon_biggrin:

"Carreg Ddu", but thats obviously a viaduct, so wheres the Dam you ask? Submerged in fact, somewhere in front of it, something I never knew.

Somewhere down there a Dog is barking its nuts off, think the Tigers Growl frightened it

Pen Y Garreg, the Middle Dam, a mere 6 Billion Litres

Craig Coch, top dam, this time with roadway along the top.

Looks like the weather stayed OK? I stopped at that cafe a little while back. It's a nice run over the 'Dragons Back',and then to Hay.
